Like most insecure people, Kohta is vain.

Unremarkably, Kohta Asakura is just one of the thousands of New York City-based directors and visual artists.

He is however, the only lanky, 6 foot 2 inch, left-handed, Japanese director based in the Big Apple who was born on Bastille Day (probably).

Born and raised in NYC, his favorite team is the New York Mets, his favorite drinks are caffeinated (coffee to live, green tea to relax), he loves Spider-Man (he grew up in the same neighborhood as Peter Parker - Forest Hills represent!), played alongside current Chicago Bulls star Joakim Noah on their high school basketball team, and his favorite artist is Inoue Takehiko. He listens to Wolf Parade (RIP) and David Bowie, his favorite politician comedian is Jon Stewart, and he wishes he was a Rilakkuma. He is a director and co-founder of the creative collective, Satan's Pearl Horses and the Crimson Underworld. He currently resides in Brooklyn. He hopes a few of these things make him slightly interesting to the opposite sex.
